From today (Monday 3rd August 2020), diners will be 'splitting the bills with Boris' at selected restaurants, as the government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme launches.
What is it?
From today, customers will get up to 50% off on bills when visiting participating restaurants, pubs and cafes. The scheme, part of the Chancellor’s Plan for Jobs, aims to protect jobs in the hospitality sector – which has been hit hard by Coronavirus.
How long will it last?
The half-price discount will run throughout the month of August and applies to all food and non-alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises of the restaurant.
How will it work?
Anyone visiting a participating restaurant, café or pub on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in August will receive the half price discount.
The scheme – part of the government’s Plan for Jobs that aims to kickstart the country’s economic recovery from Coronavirus – applies to all food and non-alcoholic drinks, with a maximum discount of £10 (per person).
No need for vouchers or any kind of registration - the discount is removed when you get the bill
Use the scheme as often as you like!
More than 72,000 establishments are participating, including independent eateries and family favourites such as Pizza Express, Costa Coffee and Nando’s.
